Kerala - Bekal
Bekal is spread over 40 acres. Bekal fort is the largest fort found in Kerala. The fort is believed to be built for defense purposes is an evident for the unique characteristic of the fort such as water-tank with steps, the tunnel opening towards the south, the magazine for keeping ammunition and the Observation Tower etc. The zigzag entrance and the trenches around the fort speak volumes about the brilliance of defense strategy of the rulers. The fort continues to attract historians, tourists and nature enthusiasts to its intriguing magnificence.
